RATINGS
SYSTEM:
All of our hikes are graded for their scenic quality, as well
as the level of difficulty involved to complete the hike.
1. SCENIC QUALITY:
 
= Very good   
= Outstanding    
= Awe-inspiring
2. LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY:
EASY - A short and mostly level
hike with a maximum elevation gain of 1000 ft. and roundtrip
mileage around 2-4 miles.
MODERATE - A hike with an elevation
gain of about a 1,500 ft., or one that requires some boulder
scrambling or route-finding and takes around 4 -8 miles to complete
roundtrip.
STRENUOUS - A hike that involves around 3,000 ft. of
elevation gain, and or a significant amount of cross-country
route-finding, as well as a roundtrip mileage in the neighborhood
of 8 miles or more.
VERY STRENUOUS - A hike of about 10 or more miles that
involves an elevation gain of around 4,000 ft., or greater.
Or a hike that truly challenges your endurance, navigation and
cross-country hiking skills and has a significant amount of
elevation gain and roundtrip mileage.
